Bristol Beacon reopens after five year transformation
Download© Licensed to London News Pictures; 30/11/2023; Bristol, UK. Bristol Beacon reopens. The dress rehearsal takes place with the Paraorchestra conducted by Charles Hazelwood, Surgeons Girl and Limbic Cinema performing Trip the Light Fantastic, an immersive, loud, electronic-orchestral and visually spectacular bespoke commission at the newly reopened Bristol Beacon concert hall. The venue, formerly called the Colston Hall, has just completed a five year transformation with the second largest investment in the arts in England by Arts Council England this century. It is the largest concert venue in the South West of England with four new world-class performance spaces and a music education centre, which will deliver over 800 events a year and generate an estimated £13m/year to the local economy. As well as having some of the best acoustics of any concert hall in Europe, it will also have some of the highest levels of physical accessibility throughout. Photo credit: Simon Chapman/LNP.
