Floral tributes clean up in Green Park
Download© Licensed to London News Pictures. 30/09/2022. LONDON, UK. Volunteers at work in Green Park clearing up thousands of floral tributes left by mourners following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The painstaking work involves examination of every bunch of flowers, now decomposing, to remove rubber bands, plastic and cellophane for disposal (pictured). Organic material will be composted in Kensington Palace gardens, dedications and written notes will be retained for archiving. Volunteers remarked at the less than green packaging materials used by the floral industry. Photo credit: Stephen Chung/LNP
