© Licensed to London News Pictures. 01/02/2014. File image of Ostend Spirit leaving Tilbury on October 30th 2013. A video capturing the moment a former cross channel ferry was beached in Turkey at a breakers yard has gone viral. Over half a million views have been racked up showing the former Pride of Calais, latterly Ostend Spirit, crash on to the beach at the yard in Aliaga, Turkey. These images show her on the Thames from where her final journey started. She was laid up at Tilbury for 6 months before being sent to scrap. The viral video is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYltdonj2iE. Two other videos show the dramatic beaching from the perspective of someone on board and can be found here http://onthethames.net/2014/02/01/video-shows-dramatic-beaching-pride-calais/ Credit : Rob Powell/LNP
