10th annual UK Wife Carrying Race

The race, which is run over a course of 380m, with both men and women carry a 'wife' over obstacles, is believed to have originated in the UK over twelve centuries ago when Viking raiders rampaged into the northeast coast of England carrying off any unwilling local women.
