Mandatory face coverings in shops to limit the spread of the Omicron variant

As of Tuesday, 30 November, mandatory mask-wearing came into force in shops in England to limit the spread of the Omicron variant. People who fail to wear a face covering in shops could face a fine of £200, which will will double with every offence, rising to £400 for a second and up to a maximum of £6,400.
