Tom Evans and Kate James from Liverpool are in dispute with medics looking after their son 19-month-old son Alfie Evans, at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. Alfie is in a "semi-vegetative state" and had a degenerative neurological condition doctors have not definitively diagnosed. Specialists at Alder Hey say continuing life-support treatment is not in Alfie's best interests but the boy's parents want permission to fly their son to a hospital in Rome for possible diagnosis and treatment.Photo credit: London News Pictures
