Pink supermoon rising
Download© Licensed to London News Pictures. 07/04/2020. LONDON, UK. A Pink supermoon rises through the haze above central London as seen from Northala Fields, to the west of the capital. Native Americans gave this month's full moon the name Pink to coincide with the spring blossom of ‘moss pink’ or phlox flowers. The moon is at its closest point, the perigee, to Earth during its monthly orbit appearing 30% brighter and 14% larger, hence is known as a supermoon. Photo credit: Stephen Chung/LNP
