HMS Dragon leaves Portsmouth to intercept Russian Navy ships

The Type 45 destroyer, HMS Dragon, leaves Portsmouth Harbour this afternoon to intercept and escort two Russian corvettes sailing north towards the English Channel from the Bay of Biscay. The move comes during a time when Royal Navy ships HMS Duncan and HMS Richmond are actively involved with escorting eight Russian navy ships through the English Channel as they make their way to the Mediterranean.
