The tombstone was found near skeletal remains thought to belong to the person named on its inscription, making the discovery unique. After being found during excavation works on a former site of a garage, archaeologists said they believed it marked the grave of a 27-year-old woman called Bodica. Other theories point to it possibly belonging to a couple - as skeletal remains of women were found nearby.
The inscription reads "To the shades of the dead, Bodicacia spouse lived 27 years". Photo Credit : Stephen Shepherd/LNP
