Dame Vivienne Westwood in a birdcage at the Old Bailey

Supporters of Julian Assange in attendance as Dame Vivienne Westwood re-enters public life, after being in shielding during the COVID-19 lockdown, by being harnessed into a giant birdcage and suspended 10 feet in the air in front of The Old Bailey Criminal Court in protest about the U.S. extradition trial of Julian Assange, which is to recommence at the Old Bailey on 7 September. She is dressed in a yellow trouser suit, enacting the metaphor of ‘The Canary In Coal Mine’, which is indicative of "Assange being sacrificed for identifying ‘poison’ in the system".
