Opposition to the Health and Care Bill is a part of the Day of Action. The campaign says In 2010, after a decade of investment, the NHS was delivering its best-ever performance but after more than a decade of austerity, despite heroic efforts by staff, it has sunk to its worst-ever. The problems were there before the pandemic but have been deepened by the continued high level of Covid infections and the need is for emergency funds to save lives now. A campaigner in support of the NHS stands outside the Bristol Royal Infirmary for the National Day of Action has been called by the #SOSNHS coalition supported by many trades unions, rallying behind 3 demands for the NHS: Emergency Funding of £20 Billion, Investment in a fully publicly owned NHS, and Pay Justice for NHS Staff.
